We're showcasing "Wood on Glass," a remarkable collection of photographs offering a rare glimpse into the region's rich lumbering heritage through the lens of William T. Clarke. Discover the fascinating stories behind these images and how they were brought to light, revealing the ingenuity and resilience of those who shaped Pennsylvania's forests and rural communities in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
The Lumber Heritage Region (LHR) is dedicated to preserving and sharing the stories that have shaped our landscapes, industries, and communities. "Wood on Glass" truly captures the essence of a bygone era – showcasing the tools, techniques, and the individuals who built a legacy in our forests.
Join us for a captivating presentation that delves into the significance of these images, their historical context, and their enduring power to inspire education and cultural appreciation. Following the talk, you can explore the collection up close and engage with LHR Educator Rowan Crisp who will be on hand to answer questions and share the captivating stories woven within these extraordinary images.

Casino Night a Speakeasy Experience
Join us for our 3rd annual Casino Night on Saturday, March 15th, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. at the Johnsonburg Fire Hall.
This year's theme is "A Speakeasy Experience", where we' ll be taking attendees back to the roaring 20's in Johnsonburg; or as it was known then, "Little Chicago".
Professional Casino games will be provided by Talent Network out of Pittsburgh and will feature poker, roulette, baby craps, a trivia table & more!
Hor d'oeuvres will be served and adult beverages will be available for purchase.
Winners will be awarded tickets to use towards the raffle of our amazing grand prizes. There will also be additional opportunities for participants to gamble with rip tickets, a lottery board, and a basket raffle.

2024 marks the 20th anniversary of the Johnsonburg Community Trust's Alumni & Friends Reunion Weekend and we have some exciting NEW ideas up our sleeves!
This year’s event will take place on Friday, July 12th & Saturday July 13th.
Friday Night, we’ll kick off the weekend in historic downtown Johnsonburg.
Market Street will be center stage for our Artisan & Heritage Market, exhibits/displays in the Heritage Education & Welcome Center, live music from our headliner Trixx, food trucks, local business specials, as well as a spectacular fireworks display sponsored by the Johnsonburg Borough & Domtar.
❓️We've had A LOT of questions about Saturday Night's dinner/dance for Alumni & Friends 20th Anniversary Reunion Weekend , so we thought we'd answer some of them to help clear things up! 👇
📃Reservation forms are available at The Johnsonburg Borough Office, Johnsonburg Community Center, Johnsonburg Public Library, Johnsonburg Senior Center & Central's Social Club.
🎟Pig Roast/dance reservations are $40 per ticket and then admission for the band only can be purchased at the door for $10 after dinner.
🚗 The entire 500 block of Market Street will be available for handicapped parking.
♿️ The main event will be held on the 1st floor of the JCC in the gym, which is handicapped accessible.
🪑Outdoor tables and seating will be available on the side porch.
🎶Mike Kreckel DJ Services will be providing a nostalgic playlist of tracks that will be sure to evoke memories for every graduating class from 1954 - 2019, during dinner and until 8:00 p.m.
🐖 The pig will be roasted off site by Clyde's Quality Meats and will be brought on site to display & carve before dinner.
🍽 A delicious menu of summertime favorites will be served by Chris's Catering (a full menu will be posted once it's finalized).
🎸Rustbelt reggae band Qwister , out of Jamestown, NY, will be playing all of your cover band favorites (with a reggae twist) from 8:00 - 11:00. They will be set up on the side porch, weather permitting.
🌽Cornhole & additional outdoor party games will be available to play.

This annual event not only lights up the night but also illuminates hundreds of memories with lit, memorial luminaries lining blocks of the borough’s historic, downtown commercial district.
Memorial luminaries may be purchased for $5.00 mailed to-- JCT, P.O. Box 43, Johnsonburg, PA, 15845-0043. Please include the details of your memoriam. A listing of luminary memorials will be published in the 130-year-old Johnsonburg Press, listed on the Trust’s Website and social media, and displayed in the window of the Trust’s Heritage-Education Center.

Festival of Flavors 2020
The Johnsonburg Community Trust presents our 2nd annual Festival of Flavors on Saturday, September 26th, 2020, from 6:30 pm – 10:30 pm.
Please join us during this unique, cultural-heritage outdoor event, at the historic Johnsonburg Community Center. Enjoy local wine, beer, and food offerings, LIVE music, and an evening of warmth beside open fires, and under the stars, in the Pennsylvania Wilds.
🍷 The $20 entrance fee includes--this year's limited-edition tasting glass, access to live music, small-batch-crafted alcohol samplings & hors d'oeuvres. Valid ID for 21+ is required at the gate.

UPDATE—We regret that the 17th Annual Reunion is postponed until September 10th and 11th, 2021 (due to pandemic concerns). However, please know that some borough alumni are considering gathering at the Trust’s July 26th BBQ Blowout, to take advantage of Elk County’s currently green status for gatherings.
The Paper City BBQ Blowout
The Johnsonburg Community Trust is hosting our first annual Paper City BBQ Blowout Competition, open to the public from 11am-6pm, on Sunday, July 26th, 2020 (as long as PA remains in green pandemic status).
This event will be held in front of the Johnsonburg Community Center at 600 Market Street, Johnsonburg. Entertainment includes a DJ and live musical performers from 11am-6pm on Sunday. (The Trust will charge a $10 admission fee and will be selling beer, non-alcoholic beverages, and additional side dishes during the event.) Please bring your lawn chair and come spend an afternoon of BBQ and entertainment!
